أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
 I seek Allah’s protection/refuge/shelter from Shaitaan, the Accursed one.

 بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Meaning :
 Al Baqrarah means  "The Heifer" or "The Cow".
Introduction : 
  • Surah Al Baqarah is the second surah of Quraan. 
  • Surah Al Baqarah is "Madani" surah of Quraan.
  • It is the largest surah of Quraan , consist of two and a half 'para'.
  • It has 286 'Ayaat'( verses).
  • It has 6,201 words.
  • It has 25,500 letters.
  • It has 40 'Rukus' (sections).
  • Surah Al-Baqarah contains the Greatest Verse of the Quran, also referred to as ‘Ayat-ul-Kursi."
 Significance & Benefits:
Prophet (s.a.w.) highlighted many of its benefits in general and some of its specific benefits.
 For example, the prophet (s.a.w.) told us that its recitation in a house keeps the Satan away.
 Abu Hurayrah reports that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) said: “Do not make your houses like graves, for the Shaytan runs away from a house in which Surat al-Baqarah is recited” (narrated by Muslim, 780).
 As most of the spiritual ailments such as evil eye, jinn possession, and black magic are satanic in nature, keeping Satan away can also help both in the treatment of such conditions and as a preventive measure.
Ayat al-Kursi (255) :
One of the most highlighted ayaats of the Holy Quran is Ayatul Kursi.

Prophet (S.A.W) said: “Whoever recites the first 4 ayats of Surah-e-Baqarah, then Ayatul Kursi and then the last3 ayats of Surah-e-Baqarah will not be inflicted with any kind of difficulty in his wealth or himself, Shaitaan will not come near him and he will not forget the Quran.”
 Allah Almighty told Hazrat Musa (A.S), “If one recites it after every namaz, the Almighty will make his heart a thankful one (Shakireen), will give him a reward of the Prophets, and his deeds will be like those of the truthful (Siddiqeen) and nothing except death will stop will stop him from
going into heaven.”


  • If you recite in your home daily, Thieves will not enter your house. 
  • And  If you recite before entering the house, Satan will not enter.
  • There is nothing but Jannah for the one who recite it with sincerity.

The Blessings of Last Verses of Surah Al-Baqarah

The last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah are one of the most memorized and recited Quranic verses among Muslims.

Prophet (s.a.w.) said about the last verses of the Surah :

“Whoever recites the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah at night, it will suffice him’” (According to Abu Masood al-Ansaari and narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4723; Muslim, 807).

Surah addresses a wide variety of topics.This Surah was revealed in Madinah. The Surah deals with a number of issues related to beliefs, history, law and The morality.
The Surah begins with the statement that it is Allah who revealed this book (the Qur'an) for the guidance of those who are conscious of Allah. Only those who seek guidance can benefit from the guidance of this Book.

The surah includes a few Islamic rules related to varying subjects, such as:


  • Prayers 
  • Fasting
  • Striving on the path of God
  • The pilgrimage to Mecca
  • The change of the direction of prayer (Qiblah) from Jerusalem to Mecca
  • Marriage and divorce
  • Commerce
  • Debt
  • Ordinances concerning interest or usury.
